I guess it is becoming self-evident with our children worrying about being shot in school or at the movies, our overly expensive healthcare that excludes so many, our over-priced prescriptions, our unaffordable college tuition, our decaying infrastructure and the deep partisanship that pits neighbor against neighbor, … that the American brand of inequitable capitalism is not working as well as it once did. Maybe it’s time to mend our own defects before we start pointing out defects in other nations. We were once the model that everyone aspired to be like, now we’re just seen as better than a dictatorship, but with 60% not knowing/caring enough to pass citizenship testing, we could easily lose our republic through ignorance and apathy.
