I didn’t understand this. Why did Beth die when she was imaginary?

The character she was based on had that same fate.

Reality kills.

The light always retreats when darkness comes.

A spoiler alert would’ve been nice… now i’ll never read Little Women.

i’m a tiny bit confused on this one. I see it one of two ways: her imaginary sister dropped dead when the older one said such a cruel thing. Or the real sister happened to drop dead at just the right time. And what was the right time? Why is the dead sister in the same room, when she was on the phone in the panel just before? Usually I’m pretty sharp and can catch what Carol is saying, but not today.

Carol’s trying to compete with Jane Austin and Emily Dickinson for the coveted title of Miss Chuckles…

Leave that rotten sister a dollar in the will. That way, she can never say she didn’t give her anything.

As someone who’s always been very close with my only sibling, things like this have always made me sad.
