What name doesn’t discriminate? The Detroit Lions discriminate against house cats, The Golden Knights discriminate against knights of other colours, The Dolphins and the Marlins discriminate against the manatees, etc. There are no names that don’t exclude others and by extension discriminate against all groups not covered by their name.
Could somebody please explain to me how “the feelings of natives” were offended by a name like “Indians”? People generally name teams after things (or people) they admire, not despise. Who’d ever think to call a baseball team the Cleveland Losers or the Cleveland Skunks?
