Recently mfgs have complained that dealer add-ons have driven prices into the stratosphere. Gotta go with that after seeing recent ad for an SUV from a brand that has almost never been at the top for popularity and has had an iffy history of reliability. Base model starting at $80K , top level starting at $90K, with extra features adding nearly $9K more to each.
Ridiculous that any US made vehicle, especially a gas sucking SUV, would even approach a price that used to buy a relatively decent sized home.
And, ike many modern homes, who can really afford it? Pay schedule would run a decade or more. Buyer would never stop paying for it. Debt would pass to heirs. Repairs would be at off earth prices.

World has definitely taken a strange turn.
