If he decides to try to take back Russia, maybe we can negotiate and get him to settle for taking back Sarah Palin. Then she would be able to see Russia from her bathroom.
In the meantime, Trump and some of his TrumpubliQan worshippers are calling Putin a “genius” and wondering what all the fuss is about (as Ronald Reagan turns over in his grave) while other more establishment Republicans, perhaps tiring of the yolk of anti-American TrumpubliQanism, are taking the opposite tack of calling for tougher actions (what do they want, Americans in another ground war half way around the world?) and saying Biden is not doing enough.
Meanwhile, Sweden and others that never joined NATO are expressing increased interest.
Just imagine, Trump started out his previous reign trying to roll back sanctions on Russia that resulted from Crimea and were increased after the 2016 Russian election interference that installed Trump, and then did everything Putin asked of him, including trying to dismantle NATO, exonerating Putin (even as Putin stood next to him in Helsinki and admitted that he wanted Trump to win and tried to help him) and meeting one-on-one with Putin without advisors or witnesses present, to take his marching orders — a naïve naif against a wily serpent.
If Trump had managed to steal a second election (or wage a successful coup), he would have simply stood back and let Putin carve up Ukraine (or swallow it whole) however he wanted.
Where does Putin plan to go next?
