If only airlines treated people as good as cattle.
To the corporate headquarters, you are not a customer. You are not even a passenger. You are a fare: seat number 42B – economy plus.
Airline corporate offices are out for one thing: make profits. Providing safe passage is forced upon them by the government. Making airline travel fit for human beings has failed Congress (who get bribes or campaign contribution or free speech as the SCOTUS calls it) from the airlines.
The people who work at the desk, the gate and in the aircraft or on the ramp, see none of these profits. They are give strict job descriptions and little if any authority to do their jobs.
Mainly, they are there to take the hits the executives don’t even want to think about. When it comes to passenger discomfort executives do the equivalent of rolling up the window on the car at the street corner when a beggar approaches.
So, the next time you want to strangle an airline employee, think again about the target of your anger and who is truly responsible for your misery. Corporate greed – Making America Great Again.
