Yesterday, I went into my bedroom and one of my cats, Poppet, was sitting on my bedside table. She NEVER sits there. I opened the blinds, thinking she wanted to look out the window. I little while later, Poppet and Luna, another cat, were on and around the bedside table. Poppet on the window ledge, Luna on the table sticking her paw under the lamp. Then I saw it… the tail of a small mouse. Yelled for my husband. As soon as he lifted the lamp, it ran off under the bed. We spent an hour looking for it. Never could find it. Hubby put traps around the room (out of cat’s reaches). We went on about our day. As we were heading to bed, we found Benny, my boy cat, playing with a dead mouse in the middle of the bedroom floor. Hubby had put a trap with peanut butter in his closet and the trap was still set but the peanut butter was gone. I guess as the mouse came out from the closet, full of peanut butter, Benny grabbed him and, well, goodbye mouse. This was the fourth mouse to get into our new house. Hubby thinks he finally figured out how they were getting in and filled the holes/gaps (at least I hope). All three of my cats are great mousers!
