TV: We now return to "Lorenzo, The Snail Who Saved Christmas". Oh, woe are we! How will we get these toys to all the kids?! I'LL do it! Lorenzo the Snail! Yes, 'tis I. Lorenzo the Snail, here to deliver toys to all the kids! Our hero! So, what's the program? How long do I have to deliver all this stuff? One night. One WHAT?! Garfield: Looks like Lorenzo the Snail has overcommitted himself.
This strip should be longer, and reveal that Lorenzo is a magic snail who, like Santa, has the power to harness people’s belief in peace on Earth and good will toward men (which I believe should be changed to ‘good will toward life’) in order to magically deliver presents. Why is it that so many comic strips don’t portray Christmas as a magical time of year?
Lorenzo: One WHAT?! A night is an insult to my holiday power. Granted, like normal snails, I can crawl only about 20 feet in an hour, but after I do that, the trail of slime that I leave behind suddenly emits a power harnessed from anyone who believes in peace on Earth and good will toward men, which will then deliver the presents automatically.
