    aicarrie1Not the whole time, but they did have le pneumatique, which was a faster version of the mail: write out your message, walk a block or two and send it to the nearest office by pneumatic tube. They would hand deliver it. You could get four or five exchanges a day that way, instead of just two mail deliveries. Now extinct, of course. Electronics.

    Kinda like the criminal who almost got away with stealing paintings from the Louvre, until he was caught when his van ran out of gas.

    He had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh.
