Where does her brother figure in toward the close of FBOFW?

I don’t remember seeing him during the last years.

He was happily married to Georgia and teaching music. Toronto, I think. He was at Liz & Anthony’s wedding, and stayed with his and Ellie’s dad when he was in the hospital with his first stroke.

Knew it wouldn’t be long before Connie was sniffing around.

Skip to the end of the strip, Connie. You don’t get him.

Yeah, she’s being a bit too nosy. I’m sure Connie will spill all the dirt later anyway when he dumps her.

And this is the first clueless step he takes to re-breaking Connie’s heart. He should know that supper and a show means an official date, while Connie is just asking for a mess later.

Arye Uygur, he was around from time to time. He lived in a different city, but he would visit once in a while. Here’s an example:

Susan, yes ear-prints are as distinctive as fingerprints. There was a CSI episode once where the art thief was identified by his ear print.

    Van Gogh?

To leave fiction and get to the real world, ears are sufficiently unique that it is recommended to notice the details of ears in hold-up situations for later identification.

When will Phil get a clue that Connie’s interested in being more than just “friends” going out for dinner and a show and quit leading her on?!? Elly’s already had this conversation with him but apparently, it went in one ear and out the other without making any pit stops to register in-between. Completely clueless!

And when, oh when, will Connie get a clue that this man just isn’t interested in her beyond the “free milk” she keeps giving him whenever he comes to town?!? You’d have thought that last desperate and pathetic attempt she made to get his attention (where she chased after him to where he lives in Canada and in the process discovered he had a french girlfriend she didn’t know anything about) would have been the end of it and given her that much-needed clue of his complete disinterest in her but apparently not. She was broken-hearted at the time but I guess that whole episode has been long-forgotten about now. It’s a whole new day, which means a whole new opportunity to change his mind and somehow convince him that she’s the woman for him. Completely clueless times 10!!!

Meanwhile, as Connie bounces back and forth from one pathetic, disastrous relationship to another, she unfortunately drags poor Lawrence along for the unpleasant roller coaster rides right along with her.

    :-(
