I miss living in Canada, I could tell how much money I had without actually taking the bills out of my wallet.

Because parents can’t watch children every single moment. And taking a few minutes to talk to a friend while a child is happily playing is a rare luxury.

Yes, heaven forbid one should be truthful in a marriage. And truthful in a way which lets your spouse know how much he is appreciated. What IS this world coming to?

Completely common for children to construct “what-if” scenarios. Because children are so very reliant on parents, parental absence is always cause for a bit of anxiety. Which is why parents who tell their kids in stores “If you don’t get up, I’m just going to leave you” make me want to slap them.

As a lit teacher, I can tell you what I tell my students. You’re allowed to have an opinion, but it means nothing if you can’t back it up from the text. :) For me and for other lit teachers, telling WHY you think that is more important than the opinion.
