When I was in elementary school in the 60s, girls generally wore dresses and skirts, so they’d be going around with bare legs even in the coldest winter weather. The only logical explanation for this I could conceive was that the lower half of girls’ bodies were impervious to cold, though I ever actually broached the subject with any of them.
