Every year the flower show at our county fair has a different theme…
Might be anything… maybe jungle, tropical, desert, historical, sci fi movies… whatever.
Local nurseries set up small vignettes or landscapes in that theme (supposedly) with live plants, their pots hidden in moss and redwood chips and such.
Always mainly some combination of begonias, impatiens, hydrangeas, and/or chrysanthemums, with a smattering of fuschia and small, unusual evergreens.
The odd rosebush or wisteria is a standout.
Mars with begonias, the beach or the gold rush with impatiens and lace-cap hydrangeas.
Things that will survive two weeks in a hot steamy building.

I used to call it the impatiens and begonia show.
