Lacey: Thadius! What a nice surprise! To what do we owe the pleasure? Thad: Didn't Dick tell you? We're going birding on Matagorda island! Lacey: What fun! But aren't you a little late? Haven't all the birds migrated by now? Thad: Well, a lot of them have, but we're afraid it's our last chance! Watt's giving partial control of the island to the Texas parks commission. Which is so pro-development it once voted to turn a critical warbler habitat into an 18-hole-golf course! Lacey: Oh, dear. I better go get Dick at once! Thad: Not that it wasn't a pretty tough call.
