Lacey: "...hope all is well with the grandchildren. How I look forward to their little Christmas thank-you letters." Anyone we know in the alumni notes this month, dear? Dick: Hmm... let's see... why, yes! "Thanks for your many good letters. I'm happy to report that the class of '29 continues to distinguish itself, especially in the great-grandchildren department. Lloyd 'Pinky' Kittredge reports that after 43 years at Kittredge and Snarf, he'll be turning over the reigns to Pinky, Jr., ,class of '52, whose own son, Pinky III, class of '75, is the proud new father of Pinky IV. Meanwhile, Gardner 'Bud' Howell, our class agent, keeps up his good work for Mobil, where he is working on the Marathon oil acquisition deal. Bud writes he recently saw football teammate Gridwell Ackley at the White House. From Florida, some sad news. Thorpe Olmstead, visiting friends in Palm Beach, reports that Hobart Ferguson suffered a fatal coronary while resisting arrest following an attempted Jewel robbery. Hobie was 74." Lacey: Only 74? Oh, dear... that's terrible! Dick: I knew that stuff would catch with him sooner or later.
