Man: Accouting? Bigelow here. Are we still solvent today? Oh, good. Can I make a loan? Man: Mr. Bigelow? Man: Mr. and Mrs. Carson, I presume! Do come in! Woman: It was nice of you to see us on such short notice! Man: Not at all! Your savings and loan is always happy to assist young couples in acquiring their first home! Man: Well, actually, we're not all that young anymore. Which is why we figured we better finally take the plunge! Man: And what a splash you'll be making! A one-bedroom condo for only $160,000! You must know someone in the real estate business, am I right? Man: Well, no... Man: I must say, I admire you! You must have managed your money very well! We get so few customers these days who can afford the 20% mortgage rate... Woman: 20%? Man: And we get even fewer who feel secure enough to take a chance on the new adjustable-rate mortgages that could push the rate even higher! Man: Uh... maybe we ought to think about it some more... Man: Okay, but don't take too long. We're about to go belly up ourselves.
