that boy is smarter than most posters and taxpayers.yes, the US PUBLIC educational system is not working.but it was SABOTAGED by liberals and lefties, the head of the Chicago Teachers Union was an official in the Communist Party of the US….this is a Marxist strike against the government of Chicago and the federal government that has poured $4 billion in 4 years into the city school system, and gets nothing much worthwhile from the money.-students are a high percentage under grade level ability.the union teachers by about 34% send their own kids to private schools. Average salary without perks has been reported being in the range of over $71,000 to $74,000 per year of teaching 9 months in short days on the job. Then there are the perks of packages of healthcare and retirement pay.(the main reason Illinois and Chicago are bankrupt.Our Governor, a Dem, wants downstate to come up with more taxes to bailout the Chicago fatcats.-I am an Illinois taxpayer and I am plenty Disgusted.

As kids, we’re only as good as our teachers. I learned most from the ones I respected and who respected me. The old story of “This is right because I said so”, did not work with me. If I felt encouraged, I did well; if I was treated like an imbecile, I learned nothing. I had teachers who admitted that they couldn’t teach the class anything more so we had three months of nothing before our exams at 16..That was 1969.

in the contract, private, and parochial/xian schools. no unions, do the job or get fired. small wonder they graduate more, and perform better as students there.
