When my niece’s husband had a stroke, and lost his job , and insurance, she lost her job due to a “Mittism cut” shortly after. They had no way to afford to keep him alive, let alone recovering. I informed them that as a veteran even though not "service connected’ he should check with VA. THey did and he got signed up to continue taking his life saving meds, and paying only an affordable copay. He also lived near a VA hospital and was able to return to therapy, at no cost. He had VA to fall back on, those Ryan and others would cut off, don’t. Of course, Ryan plan would also cut benefits for vets and military retirees too.
NO! Mitt did NOT give the woman cancer, but his actions and those of Bain, DID place thousands in the position of my niece and her husband, with no “government second option”.THAT is the Ryan plan in function.
About as fair as “Death Panel” accusations.Romney put it best when he said getting insurance wouldn’t have been a problem if she lived in Massachusetts.
One wonders how many americans died from medical complications resulting from an inability to pay for medical treatment when companies declared bankrupcy and cut loose thousands of pensioners as well as the savings and investments lost when the banks and stock brokers gambled with peoples’ savings, lost, but still gave themselves bonuses. What happened to this man’s wife has happened to too many and it simply shows we need some sort of medical safety net in this cannibalistic economy we have adopted. Respectfully,C.
