To paraphrase what I commented on today’s C&H comic; Parents need peace in their day.

No, they just want you to go to sleep, Mike.

And after that drink of water, it’ll be “I hafta go to the bathroom!”. And in the morning, it’ll be a tired and cranky kid, which no parent wants. Stay in bed already!

Like Lynn’s son “Aaron” (see her notes) …I too am a night owl. I LOVE to work 12am-8am shifts, and sleep 8am-4pm, then do my grocery shopping etc.I DESPISE getting up out of bed, before 8am. UGH, it should be illegal! :D

never had that problem with my daughter… i finally had to give her “permanent permission” to go to the bathroom so she’d stop calling me in there (as soon as I got sat down) just to ask me if she could get up to go.

Gee, how’d you guess, Mike? It is nice to have some time alone with one’s thoughts, in front of a comfy computer . . .

We’d put our kids in bed, and moments later we’d hear them jumping on the bed and all. My older son would sit by his bedroom door watching us in the living room. When they were a little older, they’d complain they were sleepy when I awoke them for school. I just said for them to go to sleep when they were in bed.

Look up “delayed sleep phase syndrome”, or “advanced sleep phase syndrome”.
