One night in jail would likely convert those doing the hiring.-If you want fewer illegals, prosecute the businesses who hire them.-Not all illegals arrive here by land.
^ Earlier this year, there was legislation introduced to make it illegal for farmers to hire anyone unless they could show proper (legal) work status. The farming industry screamed bloody murder and the legislation quietly went away.-While I don’t think both ‘sides’ are equally to blame, I do believe there is culpability on both sides. -Technology is there to build a database of people with legal word status and prohibit hiring outside of that. Supposedly, this offends Hispanics, which is why Democrats are against it. I do not believe it would offend Hispanics if enforced fairly and efficiently.-Republicans are quiet about it, but are rabidly opposed to such a scheme because it would ultimately cause wages to rise and reduce their profits by some amount.-Simple concept, doable technology, yet never discussed. -Border security, however, boy, that’s where you can blame some people! Headless bodies out in the desert!-BTW, another byproduct of such a law would be a great reduction in the human traffic across the border, reducing the manpower needed to track drug runners, etc.
