I wouldn’t say that to either group. It could start a battle of the denominations… to the death!

As if I knew the difference anyway. Do you want the Jesus behind door number one, or door number two? Or do you want the Jesus behind the curtain where Caroll Merill is standing?

There are differences on big doctrinal questions. But like political parties, denominations drift over time. E.g., whereas Episcopal was once closer to Catholic, now they are essentially Unitarian.

Very helpful. Always wondered what AME stood for.

I cling to nondenominational churches, although I was raised a Baptist. We worship God in spirit and in truth. It’s not where you worship Him but HOW you worship him. John 4:24

Methodists trace their roots to the Church of England and are therefore a connectional church with districts, bishops, etc. Presbyterians trace their roots to Calvin. They are more loosely connected. This makes a difference most particularly in how they select local pastors and how they local churches relate to the larger church. So there.

That would be an ecumenical matter.
