Maybe, someday, an actual job creator will appear on stage with Mitt.-BTW, how come Bush and Cheney never appear at any Romney event? They have the same advisors, they must have the same philosophy.

I would like to hear about this discontinuity. All those on the right say the government has no role in the economy – and that job creation is the function of the corporations, which is why they pay less in taxes today (as a percentage of income) that at any time in the last 60 years. If it’s not the government’s job to create jobs, then that can’t be a plank for the presidential election. If it IS the government’s job, then the government needs more control over those who send jobs away.

Hello Neighbors,Strictly speaking, Government is responsible for infrastructure, regulation, and law enforcement in those places where it crosses state lines to maintain a continuity in services. As in forcing fire departments to use the same size hoses and fire plugs in the event fire trucks from one state/region are needed in another. A fire in NYC caused that standardization. The interstate system was built so military equipment and supplies could be more quickly driven from one coast to another in the event of war. WW2 inspired that network of roads. Government is also supposed to protect us from companies contaminating food, water, and air in the name of profits as well as to protect employees from companies who would put lives at risk in the name of profits as Massey Mines did to those 29 coal workers. It would be nice if the Federal Goverment could sit quietly in DC and do their job, but until States and private businesses do THEIR jobs with honor, integrity, and compassion, the federal government will have a right to interfere—now if only they would interfere with honor, integrity, and compassion. I hate politics, but I love my country and, I care for and respect my neighbors.Respectfully,C.

They have had their tax cuts for over 11 years now so where the heck are the JOBS? If the private sector won’t hire people then the government must. Simple economics 101. Without demand all the tax cuts in the world will only make a few people richer. I say hire more teachers, firefighters, cops, road workers. Put money in their pockets not in the pockets of the rich who are only sitting on their filthy lucre.

Reagan raised taxes 11 years while in office, he tripled the national deficit (almost), Grew the size of the federal government, funneled weapons to the Taliban, presided over a double dip recession…that is why you are voting for Romney? Take an American Econ class, it’s all true.

“Reaganomics” increased wealth for the wealthy, over time threw the jobs market down the toilet, quadrupled the national debt (just look at the numbers) under Reagan and GHW, then “W” DOUBLED that number he inherited, and cost MORE jobs with exports, firings, and renewed tax breaks for the rich and corporations.

Yes indeed, where ARE all those jobs the “private sector” provided??? Ol’ “Mandarin Mitt” can tell you, but he won’t!

Mitt is the man who has lost many thousands of people’s jobs. Look at the GOP house, they rejected the jobs bill and haven’t replaced it with a tenable plan themselves.

“…Pelosi and the Democrats are right about wanting to stimulate the demand side of the supply and demand equation…” NOPE.The Law of Diminishing Returns is in charge now. What used to work will no longer have much affect. At this point, All the spending on Welfare, Food Stamps, Unemployment Benefits, Government Jobs, Security Jobs, & Stimulus $ is keeping the economy from sinking into a Depression WORSE than the 1930’s. There is not enough money in the world to ‘buy’ our way out of this hole.

How dumb is this guy? No, Mitt can’t create jobs, and the difference between him and Obama (well one of many differences) is that he will KNOW as Pres. he can’t create them, but get out of the way so businesses can create them. Davies doesn’t have a clue even about what conservatives stand for, and so he puts out junk like this. If you’re going into battle, Matt, understand your enemy. You’re a child with a water gun going up against the real thing here.

“…And y’all are missing the point of this ’toon. Mitt is up there saying “govt. will provide jobs”… NOPE.The Toon is confused. Romney plans to create a stable business ENVIRONMENT that will encourage corps to spend $Trillions on creating new jobs.

“…Businesses won’t invest until there’s a stable business enviroment and there won’t be a stable business environment until businesses invest…” MAYBE. If you are right, Corps will invest overseas. The people supporting Romney are HOPING he can do a ‘turnaround’ like he has done for several companies. Canada will go down the tubes with USA if you are right. It is clear that The Elected Ones (including Obama) Cannot provide the Business Environment TODAY.

“…Corporations…” Let’s be more specific:The CEO Team of Corps (that have $Million Compensation)...“…blackmail the American public…” One has to KNOW they are being blackmailed in order to get leverage; so I disagree....“…the administration they want…” I am not sure which administration you say is ‘wanted’: 1. Bush had an economy crashing on him; 2. Obama beat McCain; 3. Obama has lots of Wall Street supporters and $Billionaires; 4. Romney has lots of similar supporters, but no monopoly on them...Now, if you want to talk conspiracy… watch for the price of gas to go up or down 50 cents and all in October. Then you will know that the oil companies want Romney or Obama. Voters will react to negative news by voting out the incumbent. It does not matter to a voter that the gas price has doubled since Obama has been elected, only what happened last month.
