One earns and invests his own money. One takes and wastes mine. i can’t wait to be out of ‘touch’.

One wants to vastly lower his own taxes and vastly increase federal and state deficits. One wants to let his taxes increase slightly back towards historical norms and pay down the deficit. Can’t wait to hear the debates.

One born into a life of modest means with dark skin, the other born very rich and very pale. BTW, how does the one with a median income afford designer throw pillows? Shouldn’t she be saving that money in her IRA so we all won’t have to pay to support her when she is 72?

I’m not sure that having money equals being out of touch with average people. Maybe we should have concrete examples rather than just a dollar-count.

A smart consumer judges a product by the end result of it’s use.

This product – although very well marketed ( By the MSM) – isn’t providing very good results.

May be time to switch brands….

Ted, the premise of this toon is ridiculous. It’s just a cheap shot that won’t convince any reasonable person. Is a person who begins life in the poor or middle class, who manages to make it to a higher income bracket, inherently out of touch? Is someone who starts in the upper class always a foe of the lower classes? The answer to both is clearly no (consider Bill Clinton and FDR in each case). IMO, there are ample reasons to say that Romney is out of touch based on what he’s said and done. Obama doesn’t seem to me to be out of touch as much as inexperienced and too willing to compromise with the bullies in the GOP.

The debates this fall, if there are any, will remind you of clowns throwing pies at each other!

“I turn the channel when O or Mitchell is on tv”-Yes, it would be too uncomfortable to consider that your precocieved notions could be wrong and actually listen to something that might challenge them…

The thing is that even the Romney supporters don’t like him. Nobody likes him, even his own party.-And Romney doesn’t like his supporters. Look at the tapes of when Willard was ‘mingling’ with the common folks in Iowa. He could hardly stand it. He wouldn’t touch cookies that had been baked for him. He snubs people when the cameras are not on.-If he came to your house, Republicans on this board, he wouldn’t touch your food and couldn’t wait to get out of there.-In terms of interaction with common people, he is very much like Richard Nixon.

Romney has an incredible opportunity to show through his own personal experience how the American political system has affected his own success, how policy creates or destroys jobs, how job creators really do create jobs, etc.

But he can’t just stand behind a podium with his sleeves rolled up and say “Trust me! What’s good for me is good for YOU!” without his audience begging for the details.

He should be leading the discussion of why Swiss bank accounts are beneficial for middle class and working class people. He should be showing haggard wage slaves how incorporating could improve their tax situation.

Why is he so embarrassed about this real-life narrative? It’s a remarkable story.

Well, we could always elect someone with an income of $40,000. Of course, who’d vote for someone they’d never heard of? And where would he get the money to campaign? And what party would nomiinate him? And…and…and…

ScottPM seems more out of touch than Craig Linder. He repeats long-discredited misleading misinterpretation of polls. He seems completely unable to learn from experience or from being corrected. Craig Linder, on the other hand, wrote a thoughtful and evenhanded post. Vote for Craig!!

You say, “What’s so funny is when Obama likes to imply that it’s us (and him, too!) against all those mean one percenters when in fact HE is a one percenter! Amazing how dumb people can be to believe his dribble.” But Obama often mentions that he is well-off and that he thinks he (and other wealthy people) should pay more taxes. Where’s the dribble?

Obama raised by a single mom and a grandma. He didn’t start out with a silver spoon in his mouth. He got into Harvard. He became president! So far so good. What’s Mittens done? Add to his already big fortune at the expense of the little people? Lobbied to keep his taxes low so you would have to pay more or see your services cut and your country flushed down the drain.

“Obama had his chance to increase taxes but blew it when he failed to do so when he failed to Veto the Bill Extending the Bush tax Cuts, a bill that was written in such a manner that it’s an all or nothing deal, meaning Tax Cuts are extended for all or no one.”Never mind the fact he tried to only extend the tax cuts for only those earning $100,000 or less. Never mind his second attempt, which would only extend the tax cut for those earning $250,000 or less. Never mind the fact that the Republicans shot down both measures and refused to allow anything go through until the Bush tax cuts were extended for the richest few. Never mind ANY fact other than the few that agree with your per-determined view of what actually happened.

As I’ve said before, I don’t make a big deal about spelling — I’m not a good speller myself, though I do my best. I am bothered by bad grammar — and boy oh boy is there a lot of bad grammar on these posts!!! The point of good grammar is that it helps the organization of thought. Persistent bad grammar is almost always a sign of sloppy thinking.

No “well informed” person could possibly, with clear conscience vote for robmoney. Unless of course they were one of his preferred class standing to benefit big from his massive only-for-the-rich tax cuts.

Sounds like you would prefer a dictatorship with you in charge. Lib suppression on free thinking, IF I DON’T AGREE WITH YOU, YOU ARE WRONG!

Tisk, Tisk, Tisk… I believe this defines you as a hypocrite! Perhaps an uninformed hypocrite!
