Used to joke when I was a teen when we’d go past something that had our surname that I didn’t know it belonged to the family. Best joke was going past roads with our name about how we weren’t seeing a dime form the folks living on the road even though they “owed it to us.”
My last name is Ames. The department store wouldn’t even give me a discount much less royalties. Served them right to go out of business ten years ago.
