Whole thing, nationally, locally, regionally, both parties, and independents, totally out of control. We need serious reform.

How about this for a start:

    1. "No member of the House or Senate, or anyone serving on their staffs paid from public funds, shall lobby congress, in any form, for 30 years after the date said “service” elected, appointed, or employed, is terminated."

    2. Rewrite the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 to state: “No political appointee (Schedule C or other) shall be converted to a civil service appointment, nor taken into the Civil Service for a period of 10 years after said political appointment terminates.”

Actually, the “founding fathers” like well Hamilton and Jefferson, fully expected the Constitution to be amended, and “grow with new times”. Of course, Hamilton, and the “Federalists”, who the right wing today admire, wanted a king, monarchy, and feudalism, and they’re still “going for it”.

Just a note on the flap today on “immigrants”, Einstein, von Braun, immigrants. Shouldn’t a kid who came here with his parents at six, who served in our military and got an honorable discharge, get citizenship, not just an “extension” on deportation proceedings???

This debate is silly. The entire contest is going to cost what? A couple billion dollars? In a nation where individual contributions to any one campaign can be over $2k per person. I’ve already doled out almost $500 in various contributions. If every citizen gave just a fifth of that we could spend $35 BILLION on this election. Frankly I don’t consider that unreasonable when interviewing candidates for the most important job on the planet.
