@The Nihilist Teachers generally don’t get paid in the summer unless they’re working. Usually their last paycheck is at the end of the school year and the next one is after the following school year begins. My mother banked extra during the school year to carry her through July and August – she was in the school system for 30 years, and never saw a summer paycheck unless she worked a summer program.
Will Pat and Don allow Pasquale to grow up? I noticed it was mentioned he was in the 2nd. grade. Will he now go on to the 3rd? Will he ever grow in height? Even now, he’s a lot shorter than a normal kid his age. I love this strip, but I wish they would make the characters closer to the real scale.
Sharron1026: Distorted kid size is one of those cartoon physics things. Len Norris (a pioneer in humorous editorial cartoons at the Vancouver Sun in the ’70s) had Boy Scouts at about 18" tall. I was 24" at birth!
what? Who is this everyone gets the summer off with pay??? What really happens is the pay is divided up over 12 months instead of ten. So teachers have something during the whole year. AND long gone are the days of 9 months.. each state has the classrooms open for ten months. Add in the time for workshops and meetings that teachers are now coming back in for… Teachers are lucky to have five weeks for their families and their self during the summer break. Just a FYI
