    Give it a foot or two (very possible within the next 50-100 years) and a lot more than that will be affected. Maybe by then potato skins will come pre-salted. Chips could get soggy, though.

    I don’t know who you think you’re kidding, Scott. The Roman Empire was the largest empire on the face of the planet. It may have gotten weaker and complacent over time, but it conquered the ancient world like nobody’s business. I don’t see how that’s a bad moment in Italian heritage.
