Everyone is making the same mistake. What makes you think Obama wants us to recover? Everything he has done was designed to sink us further.

Not true. No politician worth their title would want us to think.

Republicans won’t get their foot off the brake. Tax cuts for the rich led to the recession. More tax cuts will mean more money out of the middle class and more stall. The small stimulus led to a small recovery. A bigger stimulus will lead to a bigger recovery.

Yes, contrary to what looney Lisa thinks, the recovery has happened. Even wall street commentators know it.-———————————————————————————http://articles.marketwatch.com/2012-04-04/commentary/31281855_1_stock-market-bull-market-ibbotson-associates-————————————————————————

If unemployment is going down, then why is the work force shrinking at the same time? The actual number of unemployed is over 9 million above the “official” unemployment number. The real unemployment rate is about 16%.

But if the recovery weren’t working, why does Wall Street keep going up?

Strange the lemming like behaviour that drives conservatives to want to return to the failed economy of the last decade – dozens of banks going under daily, frozen credit, failing companies, job loss of 700,000 per month, trillions spent on wars, unfunded spending out of control. health care costs highest in the industrialized world but millions without health care, executives looting their companies and paying themselves hundreds of millions. Can memories be so short?

“Down to 8.2%” You mean down to a level higher than what the POTUS promised us would be the maximum level if the stimulus package were passed? 8.2%+ unemployment for three years is horrific, by any scale. If Bush were president right now, he’d be getting butchered by the MSM and every liberal on these boards for not doing enough to fix the unemployment figures. 8.2% is crap. And Yohan has another point. The unemployment rate hides the truth in the country: There are fewer jobs available now than when he took office. People have also just stopped looking for work. That has never happened before, as I recall. Nebulous, the reason the DJIA keeps going up is because of two reasons. One, and most likely the principle cause, is because the dollar has been devalued so much. QE1 and QE2 have deflated the value of the dollar. Secondly, it’s because Wall Street is based on corporate health. The various reports impact their perception of corporate health, and thus impact the market itself. The reason foreign economies impact the DJIA is because wall street recognizes the impact a failed nation would have on the entire global economy. Why do you think the market is so skittish and volitile? In general, we are in the weakest recovery of our nation’s history, and the responsibility does not rest with the republicans. Why? Because you need pro-growth policies to spur economic activity. The programs they have been opposing (foot on the brake) are things like Obamacare (increases the burden on businesses for every employee they have, massive regulations, etc), the Frank-Dodd bill (Again, more regulations), etc. The Obama Administration has been throwing up more and more things for businesses to chew on, and that slows growth. After all, look at the NFIB report that said small business owners are still worried about the future. Small Businesses are the #1 generators of new jobs in this country. You tamp their ability to generate jobs in this country through overregulation and taxation, and you push down on the job creation in this country.

There are several comments regarding unemployment so I will not address that issue.

Yes, the GDP has slowly crept up to 3% last quarter. However what you are not talking about is the “Debt to GDP” scenario. The last two years of Bush it was 64.4% & 69.4% respectively. Under BHO it has skyrocketed to 93.2% in 2011.

How long before it reaches 100% and how long can we sustain under that ratio?

And you think BHO is doing a good job?

It all depends just WHERE in the country you’re at. SOME places (like down here in Florida) are still in crisis because of things that started with the Shrub. Other places (I’ve heard like in Montana) are booming for one reason or another. So take in just WHERE in the Country you are before you say anything.

So your saying Obama hasn’t done anything right? While its doubtfull you would think the stimulus (which created jobs) and the auto bailout (which saved jobs) were the right calls, surely you think Obama made the right call in having bin laden terminated? Or were you glad that the man who directed the mass murder of 3000 Americans was on the run as long as he was?You need to do some soul searching.
