Ted Rall for April 16, 2012
Transcript:
The talk. Man: These creatures are extremely skittish, especially at night. If you happen to encounter one, don't startle it. Move slowly. It can attack without notice. Speak slowly or not at all. Avoid wearing bright colors. Of course, the safest course of action is to avoid areas where they're known to roam. Man 2: Cops are like mountain lions? Man 1: Mountain lions who are legally authorized to strip search and finger-rape you.

Actually, when dealing when an aggressive mountain lion, making a lot of noise and waving your hands can be enough to scare it off. If only this worked for the gendarmes.

Here’s your source for that, Tigger: “Colonisation After Emancipation” by Sebastian Page and Philip Magness. A fascinating book, but some of the documents used are disputed as to their authenticity. However, Lincoln did try to colonize a part of Haiti with freed slaves, who were wiped out by smallpox, and also had plans to use freed slaves to colonize Panama. As far as the mass deportations, I don’t think that would have happened due to economic factors, so I doubt his death prevented anything like that. Kudos for knowing about that, though. If you haven’t read the book yet, I will recommend it. Just don’t believe all the neo-Nazi hype surrounding it. Too many people like to quote things out of context for their own political views.

Say, did Ted Rall just insult our mountain lions by comparing them to lower life forms?

good job, supreme court. if cops does a cavity search and finds a polyp or lesion or a mass, does that qualify as a health exam?

Hospitals going bankrupt okay with you?
Agreed, it’s a lousy solution, but the right would never allow the sensible one. Might interfere with profits.
