Madison would have FREAKED at "W"’s Executive Orders, “signing statements” and riders and “earmarks” inserted by Congress. He would have NO COMPLAINT about anything that actually appeared in any bill the CONGRESS reviewed (or had the chance to) and voted on.

Madison warned future Americans about the intrusion of the federal government….and slow and sneaky has been the usual reason for our losing constitutional rights….but possibly due to the dumbing down by our liberal government education system and the powers that be who control it….the elimination of civics and history courses I had to have as required study—I graduated high school in 1948——-we now have congress members and even a liberal USSC Justice who has not a clue about laws that deserve to be ruled illegal…!

If you put a frog in boiling water he will jump out. if you put a frog in cold water and gradually heat you will get a boiled frog. this is the way our rights have been eroded with the boost from such things as pearl harbor and 9-11. the rich and powerful are raising the temperature of the pot we are in and it may be too late to jump out

Madison also started out a “Federalist” , the with Jefferson came up with the “Democratic Republican Party”. He was more complex than a simple out of context statement, just as some of Jefferson’s quotes are often taken out of context and applied incorrectly, especially by today’s “conservatives”, when making an argument that doesn’t actually exist, except in their minds.

Trying to say “O’Romneycare” is Obama’s choice, or preparation, is absurd. Odd that the most “Republican” part of the plan, forcing people to purchase PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANY OFFERINGS, is NOT “single Payer”, and indeed does appear in conflict with the Constitution. Now an extension of “medicare” on the other hand, has already met the Constitutional test, and that WOULD be, a single payer system allowing actually, greater freedom of choice, and cheaper coverage.

@Eryxyou are correct in your analogy it was Ronald Reagan’s role to play president aided by a plotted assassination attempt to blur the way for his manipulators do their part to start the ball rolling. it was culminated with another manipulated man playing the role of president in George W. Bush aided by another plotted tragedy, 9-11 to distract the public while they did their deed the Patriot Act and other tactics. It actually started with Nixon and Houston Plan. I am not sure it was ever abandoned by Nixon but perfected under Reagan and Bush

“The abridgement of the freedom of the people by the gradual and silent encroachment of those in power”, Madison predicted Citizens United?
