    I believe you’re right (although I haven’t seen a wood orange crate in many moons. That raised the thought that the produce packers missed a marketing bonus when they abandoned their colorful (and highly collectable) crate labels and began using drab cardboard crates.

    They are very smart indeed!

     

    We were plagued with ants for many years. Swarming season in the spring was the worst. Then we had the plumbing overhauled. Apparently the several tiny leaks kept the soil around the foundation moist, perfect for ant homes. With the ground dry, the ants quickly departed for more suitable territory. They are still nearby (we see indivudual hunters wandering around once in a while), but we are no longer plagued by marching columns and swarming hoards.

    This like today’s Stone Soup. Only their ants were in the car. Ant traps are suppose to kill them all. Oh, and about the so-called crate of oranges: Isn’t that really a color TV?
