I see $2000 in repairs, and $2000 in FUTURE repairs. Just because they have it on the rack, doesn’t mean they have to do all the work. Shop around for brakes. You’d know if your clutch was worn enough to be a problem. At least then you have time to find a replacement if you don’t have the $$$$
we’ve shopped around when we need work done and many times have found out we did NOT need ALL of the work that had been recommended. Some mechanics have even said that if you don’t get it done it would be “dangerous”. Hard to believe how many people take advantage of others.
Hmm. What happened to the fuel pump problem mentioned yesterday? Quite different symptoms from what this rip-off artist is throwing at them. But then again. Claire and Paul know nothing about car maintenance/repair as shown in an earlier thread. Yeah, it’s just a ’car’toon.

As the cost of repairs for your automobile move inexorably toward the price of a new car, get ready to include the car in the toaster/TV/stereo/PC category. I took a flat screen TV with a cracked screen to have it repaired, and, to a company, the refrain was “it’s going to cost you more than buying a new one”. Lordy.
