quick, take all the food out of the freezer and cook it, throw a party, maybe someone has an old fridge you can use. or just take it down to the restaurant.
If it hasn’t yet defrosted a good cooler if you pack it tightly will keep food frozen for long enough to go and buy a new one. I have never seen the refrigeration compressor suddenly go out without some poor performance first. I always moniter temperature and even regularly move the thermometer to check various areas. I do the same in my oven with a different one.
Once again (just like Thanksgiving) they have completely forgotten that they live on top of a restaurant. Take the food down there and put it in their freezer for a while. Sheesh.

My freezer’s on the bottom too, but it’s 1/4 the size of the fridge.
