It took me a minute. Recently there was a silent movie called “The Artist.” “The Descendants” was another movie. This was an Oscar joke. Note the tux in the first two panels and the Hawaiin shirt in the last. If it needs explaining, it’s not that funny. Swing and a miss. Better luck tomorrow.
Dean Pelton from “Community” and the Milk Shake dude from “Reno 911!” are now Oscar winners, because they co-adaptiwrote the screenplay for “The Descendants” with Alexander Payne. I wonder if any golden statues will be sneaking into background shots when “Community” returns next month? Hmmm?
