How humiliating, but what choice did Eno have since the US Post Office no longer accepts “Letters to Santa”!

The USPS accepts letters to Santa, they just don’t route them to North Pole, Alaska anymore. The population there would write letters back to some kids (signed by Santa or his Helpers), which would carry the North Pole postmark. But it turned out there’s a registered sex offender working (completely legally) in the Post Office there, so people got freaked out and shut down the program. I don’t know that there were ever any incidents of inappropriate letters being sent to the kiddies, but you know how people are…
