However, Segway’s seem to be very effective in downtown areas. Cops in downtown Nashville are very noticable on theirs. And noticable is a big part of the game in crowd control.

The segway has a place one can top off one’s stun gun.

frankly, I WANT a segway

I like it!

Here in New Haven, cops ride almost everything – horses, mountain bikes, Harleys, Crown Vics and, yes, I’ve even seen ’em on Segways around the Yale Campus.

knew a state trooper traded his harley for a bmw bike. he said he prefered it, because of the response, performance, and he claimed he’s caught every one of the jap bikes that’ve tried to out run him, and he hasn’t hit the bmw’s top end yet! :)

The turning radius on the Seqway is certainly better than the chopper for catching agile perps!

so is dictatorship. Is that a reason to emulate China?

Queen Vic gave me a headache. Now I don’t think this is very funny.

I know it is too late and no one will read this, but the PGA has a Segway cam high definition camera and microphone on one of those scooters. Talk about multi-tasking.

Have never seen a real cop on a segway. On bikes. Harley. Horses. and driving cars. tanks, speed boats. But not the segway. Hey. Even seen paramedics with gear on bikes.

“But I do wonder sometimes… if you [a bicycle cop] are called on to help in an emergency, do you take time to chain your ride to a lamppost first, or risk it being stolen?”
