hey, if he’s gonna eat that much it certainly is a much better deal to pay a fixed price…that is, until the buffet owners put their heads together and raise dinner prices for teen boys named Peter Fox!
My wife and I used to frequent a restaurant that had an “all you can eat” surf and turf night. Each time we were there there was a man who really piled it on and ate it all.
We asked the manager if he lost money on that man. He replied, “On him, yes. On everyone else who comes in to watch him eat, no.”
Reminds me of the time a relative asked for a doggie bag at an all-you-can eat Chinese restaurant. I couldn’t make out what the owner said to him, but I can imagine.
So I walked into the all-you-can-eat buffet. As I started back for seconds, the owner came out and said, “YOU GO NOW!” “But the sign says ‘All You Can Eat’”, I protested. “YES!” he screamed, “THAT’S ALL YOU CAN EAT! YOU GO NOW!!!” One of my favorite gags from decades ago.

He’s at that age where he can eat whatever he wants, as much as he wants, and still stay skinny as a rail. I used to be that way; not anymore.

It wouldn’t be the first time the restaurant says “all you can eat” isn’t meant to be taken literally.
