Rigor, Mo. many years ago: Man walks into barber shop and requests a shave, but pulls out pistol and says, “but if you nick me, I’ll shoot you!” One barber in the shop takes him up. Afterwards, customer remarks that he was very brave to accept such an offer. “Oh, not really. If I’d nicked you, I’d just went ahead and cut your throat!” (rough town)
Saw a Jack Benny rerun recently on a station called AntennaTV. In the storyline Jack receives a letter from his barber that goes as follows. “We are writing to all of our customers who got a shave last Saturday. Are you missing an ear? If it is not called for within 30 days we will add it to our collection.”
I’m guessing from the hairstyle that this strip came out in the 1960s or ’70s. Either that, or Fisher was way ahead of his time.÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷See you all next year!
