Given the departments Perry has targeted, I doubt it. Commerce is one of the functions specifically reserved for the Federal Government by the Constitution. It includes such ‘useless’ agencies as the US Patent Office. Regulation and protection of Nuclear power falls under Energy.
lol..never knew why Governor Perry was so sought after; Governor Jindal was the early favorite. But Churchie is right…the direction Governor…i mean senator…I mean Community Organizer now President Obama is taking us is merely President Bush x15..
Jindal, Christie, and Jeb are all waiting for 2016. THEY are smart enough to realize no one’s going to unseat Obama in 2012. But keep watching Fox, they’ll force you to the edge of your seat with the TENSION——“Ooooh! Which one of these clowns-….er… candidates is going to make the brown fella a one-termer??”
Give him a break. We can’t all be as intellectual as Mr. B.O.
Is Mr. Pres paying attention anymore to the direction the country is going? Or is he just along for the ride? It sure seems that way. Sure glad we elected a deep thinker in 2008.
It’s ironic that Governor Perry wants to eliminate the Department of Education when he himself suffers from no education. Considering the mess that President Obama inherited from Bush-Cheney & the Republican Congresses, and considering the roadblocks that Congress has put in his way, he has done an admirable job.Unemployment peaked and is falling. We caught Osama bin Laden. The war in Iraq has ended. There have been no terrorist attacks for three years. (Bush-Cheney couldn’t say that in their first term.)Women will receive equal pay with men. Health-care reform has begun & torture ended. No Teapublican can match that record and anyone who voted for Bush-Cheney should be apologizing, not criticizing.
You have denied nothing I wrote. President Obama has accomplishments to his name.On the other hand, your beloved, unelected, Bush-Cheney caused the deaths of 100,000; the squandering of three trillion dollars; a doubling of the federal debt; the unwarranted invasion of two sovereign nations; and the ruin of America’s economy.Yet, after voting for him & his wars while not having the gumption to fight, you dare to criticize Obama. After you apologize for your poor choices and your cowardice, then we might read your criticism. Currently, your attempted critique of Obama is impotent and merely continues to reflect badly on your beloved Bush-Cheney.
Ah, you concede all my points. Thanks. Now, in re socialism: I am no more socialist than you.We have had this discussion, and I won’t have it again. Anyone who enjoys life in a society with highways, police, fire departments, e.m.t.s, libraries, food inspections, safety inspections, & public parks enjoys the benefits of socialism. To be socialist is to be American. To be against socialism is to be anti-American. Do not malign my country.
