dtroutma, I usually agree with you. But on this one I don’t recall Cheney ever saying that his administration would be honest or fair or transparent. Obama wanted to have a more transparent gov’t based on the shameful, catastrophic, sickening failure that came before him and I do think its fair to point out when the goal isn’t achieved so improvements can be made.
President Obama promised an open and transparent government during his campaign. That promise went out the window pretty quick. First, he ramrodded Obamacare through Congress via secret closed door meetings with all sorts of special interest groups. Then he refused to release the visitor’s log for the White House. The courts made him release those, so now his staff meet special interests outside the white house. Now Congressional investigations have to subpoena documents from our President, and Mr. Obama is seeking to get these documents classified under executive privilege. So much for hope and change. We keep getting more of the same bad political misconduct.
Kylop: worth noting: My objection is to the incredible increase in “secrecy” during the last administration, multiple addditional agencies which mean NOBODY knows what’s happening! I had hoped Obama would cancel out the “administration” controlled agencies, like about 30, and restore some sanity, and get rid of contractors, it hasn’t happened, and is a big disappointment. Nobody will find their way to the bottom of all the “payoffs” and graft from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Solyndra is such minor blip on the radar it wouldn’t qualify as a gnat, but hey, all evil comes only from Obama, right??
It is OK, indeed it is condoned to scheme, cheat, steal, connive, conspire, defraud, obfuscate, misinform, and so on, as long as those actions are in compliance with the leftist moral compass, and serve to further the LOFTY ideals . . . .!!!
“Top Secret America”, by Dana Priest, is a good summary of what SEVERAL previous administrations did with “secrecy” the intense growth post 9/11, and current things still happening under Obama. I know, it’s a book, and filled with provable facts and history, so too complicated for "W"s fans to understand.

Maybe she can find a WMD in there? Oops, maybe a little look at Halliburton would be worth Lisa’s attention?

Let’s just replace “Wall Street Occupiers” with “Tea Party”, and see what tune you sing.
