It clearly states in the constitution voters must render photo I.D. and/or a DNA sample to vote. It’s just that simple (minded).

Blocking voters goes back to the fact only “propertied” folks were originally allowed to vote, no women either. We’ve progressed, and now Republicans (again) are out to indeed “void” on potential “opposition” voters.

I tend to be more liberal than conservative, but I have no problem with a voter ID card. Though, I think it should be easy and inexpensive to get, and a national card..But allowing your NRA membership card and not student ID cards just makes it obvious they’re unfairly trying to influence the vote by suppressing Democratic turn-out.

If GOP ideas were popular they wouldn’t need to suppress votes.

I wanted to see the photo-ID of a DEAD man that votes. That would be sooo cool. I do like the ‘inking the finger’ idea. While we are at it- let’s give an extra vote to those showing an IRS-1040 paying over $200,000 in taxes since the last election. These are the people SUPPORTING America.

" A report from the US Department of Justice showed that of the millions of US votes during the surveyed election cycles, only 95 people were charged with “election fraud” from October 2002 to September 2005. That report is for the entire nation"

“According to a 2010 report released by the SC Election Commission, 178,175 registered SC voters don’t have any form of state-issued photo identification.”-—————————————————————-http://www2.scnow.com/news/2011/sep/13/column-sc-voter-id-law-put-hold-ar-2403386/-—————————————————————- Given its terrible past dealing with the disenfranchisement of minorities, the Voter Rights Act requires states like South Carolina to have all voting law changes approved by either the US Department of Justice or a federal district court.

Odon: They didn’t have DNA testing back then either.

mdavis: The Republicans in my state are demanding that the government issued photo ID list a current address inside the district the citizen is voting in. That would require college students to get new ID or travel home to vote.

Democrats don’t want photo ID because they are dishonest and want to win elections by fraud if need be. A photo ID is free or at a very low cost at any DMV.

If you are poor, elderly or a minority – the odds of not having a photo ID is greater than if you’re white, middle and upper class.

Who says class warfare is dead?

The Republicans can’t put forth a candidate that would be Obama on the merits of the issues, so they have to suppress the vote.

And who exactly are these illegal voters? Last time I looked , voter turn-out was in the 30% range.

^ What budget are you going to cut to pay for all those free IDs? The same people insisting on voting ID also slashed budgets to make up for the taxes they cut.

I just moved 40 miles.I had to have my birth certificate, ss card, two proofs that I live here and $31 to get a drivers license. If you don’t have any of that you don’t vote. But I think gerrymandering is a bigger problem.

Voter ID’s are BRILLIANT. After all, its impossible to forge photo id’s to get in to vote twice. But if some way IS discoverd, those fine voulenteers, with all they’re training/know-how will be able to stop the forgers….

“The union was setting up tables right outside the employee dining rooms to make sure the illegals who work in the casino get registered.”So what you’re saying is a whole bunch of people knew illegal migrants were working for the casino and no one turned in the casino for breaking the law?

It doesn’t change the fact that there is no voter fraud but there is voter suppression.

I have moved around and know that I COULD have voted in the old location and new location on election day. Does everyone realize how Outdated the Registration Rolls ARE in some places? Fix the system. I don’t know about ACORN, but it looks like Who Does the Registering and Certifying the Registers is VERY IMPORTANT, too.

Tell me people: How many Voters do YOU know that DO NOT SPEAK English? Look at my quote: “Come to Las Vegas on any election day. You will see voter after voter who don’t speak a lick of english! Think that might be a clue?” Guess where the Push for English as the USA National Language is coming from- an Hispanic organization. That would simplify a few things- don’t you think?

Wow. This just rends my heart asunder. I mean, when folks CAN find the time to vote, but NOT get a picture ID, the point of decrying it is lost in the simplicity of just going out and GETTING one.

Leftists are SO much about changing times, and how much society and government must change with the times, but when it comes to elections, they want voting to be as antiquated as it was 200 years ago. They become completely dogmatic about ballot counts and allowing any and all methods of fraud to be unaccountable (just as all of their actions). Be assured that when ANY attempts are made to battle voter fraud during elections, the leftist/collectivists will cry “foul.”

“Brennan Center for Justice did a 50 page report” ….I have not had a response to my voice-mail or eMail about the Nevada situation. Let’s all be patient. The Center may be busy preparing another 50 page report denying voter fraud.

Frankly I think a photo is a good idea. It is a good idea on a drivers licence. Its a good idea for an employee ID. It is a good idea to be on voter registration. It’s not like we have illegals voting, and identity theft.
