As they sit on the sofa, Ruth asks, "What do you want to be, Gene?" Gene answers, "'Be'? I don't know.." Gene concludes, "Rich, I guess! How about you?" Ruth responds, "I'm not sure, either.." Ruth explains, "I just know I want to be part of... of.." Frantically, she finishes, "Something!!"

I miss Ruth. She was a great character. I understand why Jimmy Johnson took the strip in a different direction for Gene. He & Ruth were not a good match, but she was so interesting.
