Cool people don’t like to do anything like anyone else. They like to be unique, and do things like get lots of tattoo’s, have their pants crotch at about their knees, wear their hat sideways, etc. You know all that cool unique stuff no one else does.

I’d say Hobbes looks pretty cool, rockin’ that sombrero. Not everybody could pull that look off!

If Puss can wear boots, then Hobbes can wear a sombrero.

Everything has been done already, so there’s nothing unique anymore. The funny thing is that everyone tries so hard to be unique, so in reality they’re just doing what everyone else is doing.

Something people here might want to know: Friday 18 November, three days from today, is the 26th anniversary of the first appearance of Calvin and Hobbes as a syndicated comic strip. It ran for just over ten years, ending on 31 December 1995 with 3,160 strips published.

Sparky did not quit. Watterson should get back in the saddle.

One has to wonder, though: where did Hobbes get the money to buy a sombrero? Where did he go to buy it? Who would sell a stuffed tiger a hat (don’t forget – only Calvin sees him as alive)?

I always considered this C&H’s first misfire. The punchline sounds like something out of the feeble last years of “Peanuts.”

Hobbes needs a horse with a fancy leather saddle with silver inlay all over it = way cool south of the border, muchacho….(I don’t think I spelled that right, but I’ve never been cool either)

What I want to know is how Hobbes bought the sombrero. Did he walk into the hat shop and say “One sombrero please”? This conjures up all sorts of interesting scenarios of tigers, shop assistants and sombreros……. hmmm…

I bet if the “Occupiers” all wore sombreros they would get more respect.

Precisely Susan. Cool is mental. No one wants to be warm. Girls like it when someone says they’re “Hot!”. Guys like it when people think they’re coooool~ … No one likes being in the middle.
