Sounds like WWII price controls to me. Or could it be from the National Recovery Act price controls of the Depression? Almost certainly not from Nixon’s wage and price freeze or WWI controls. (When will politicians learn price controls have never worked anytime in history? Oh, that’s right, they’re politicians.)
