Currency. The dollar has traditionally been the “safe haven” for currency investors. Now people are looking at the yuan (in part thanks to the GOP threatening our credit rating — thanks, guys). Problem is, the Chinese are controlling it directly instead of letting it fluctuate with the market, which gives them advantages. In case you hadn’t noticed, the Chinese are waging very effective economic warfare. Who said the Communists weren’t capable of capitalism?
