Granted the guys at the Pentagon like their new toys but, don’t forget that at times CON-gress forces equipment on them that they don’t want so their district can have defense jobs. What’s that, the government creates jobs you say, that’s right Dumbo. And the only threat out there is not just goat herders with AK’s. China is building and Russia is still out there. As you were.

Try reading Imaginary Weapons: A Journey Through the Pentagon’s Scientific Underworld by Sharon Weinberger – it’s even on sale. Weird and frightening.http://www.amazon.com/Imaginary-Weapons-Pentagons-Scientific-Underworld/dp/B001G8WQ2K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1314904176&sr=8-4

@wrongwing: I’ve seen stimulus road workers with shovels and lots of heavy equipment in more than 15 states in the last two years. Those men and women have been buying food, back to school supplies, beer, cars and lots of other stuff that stimulates our economy, as well as improving our nation’s infrastructure. The problem with “shovel ready” projects is that republicans refuse to fund enough of them. Obama bailed out the American auto industry(and has been paid back!) ; Bush bailed out the big banks, who are still screwing us.

With respect to your @Kimberly message: Bush did not commit any military blunders, did he? Such as letting Bin Laden escape in Tora Bora? Or invading a muslim country that had nothing to do with 9/11? Or shipping billions of dollars in cash to both Iraq and Afganistan with no accounting OR accountablilty.

Where your head is, you will never get sunburned ears.

I believe $60 Billion is not a miss. “Awarding of contracts must be looked at!” Does the name Halliburton mean anything to you?

$60 billion in fraud and waste was just the “tip” on the full tab, and Cheney was the waiter.

If the Teapublicans really wanted to cut spending, then they would cut the military budget severely. Indeed, if they really wanted to cut spending, then we would’ve heard from them ten years ago, when Bush-Dick turned our federal surplus back into a federal deficit and began quadrupling the federal debt.

No, the Teapublicans waited until we had our first legitimate presidential election in twelve years and we had elected an African-American Democrat before whining about the debt.
