The cartoonist is drawn toward crooked-neck-dirty-knee syndrome. (If it were hairy knees he would have hairy chest/pits as well.) Though looked at in a certain way it looks like he has pit hair to his elbow.
Speaking of “back to normal”, I’m really annoyed that I’m recieving this strip in the colorized version, rather than with the sublte black and white tones of the original artwork. It really ruins it.
