The South Africans (well, their press is at any rate) are looking closely at what Anna Hazare is achieving, if anything at all (apart from weight loss). My Indian colleagues are sceptical that their government will listen. I suggested that they bribe the ministers to listen. :-|

Corruption is a way of life in the Middle East and Asia. Been watching it work its ways since I was in SVN in 68. For all the areas cultural beliefs to take what comes, GREED is a HUGE driving force in the spreading of corruption.

More like 1000000bc. If anyone, anywhere, figures out a way to permanently eliminate corruption from governance, we’d all like to hear it. Execution of any politician who has any form of communication off the public record might help a little, but the audience would probably get distracted by the sex scandals.
