Know what you mean Doctor Toon, Maybe the early heat is because we started Daylight Savings time so early?

July was indeed a heat blast. I grew up in a cooler climate. My grandad: “There’s 2 seasons here. July and Winter. In a bad year, we have July 4th and Winter.” (I’m sure it’s not original to grandad, but he had many originals).

Here, the temps are just now getting to the high 70’s and low 80’s during the day.

@beviek I’m in MO, too, and I had the misfortune of my AC trying to go out twice this summer during the two hottest weeks at the start of the summer and this month. With some fresh freon, it looks like it’ll survive the summer now, but the poor thing is 35 years old—eight years older than me! I’m definitely saving up over the fall and winter for a new one in case next summer is deja vu.

Here in BC they’re still highlighting days where the temperature is forecast to get up to the seasonal average!

I’m not sure if we have hit 80 degrees yet this year in Seattle… thanks to all of you heat hoggers out there. ;-)

So is this a counter to those Stone Soup “You gotta love August” comics?
