I don’t really know here… this story… which is long winded already, just became preposterous…. they HAVE a GPS and go off and take a trip and do not initially use it until they are so lost and off track that they are over 70 miles off course?!?! I hope Joel and Rufus come back soon to bring much needed sanity and humor!!!
@teddyr, this strip was born in an era waaay before the instant gratification generation. It’s supposed to move at a glacial pace. If you want fast, try some single panel cartoons, you won’t get it here.
Ladyfingers, that’s because men realize one of the secrets of the universe is…. the locals don’t know where it is either, they just give you directions in hopes that you get even further lost and don’t come back and bother them again.
For the same reason little boys aren’t being allowed to be little boys any more. The man-haters are in charge now. It’s not PC to be white, male and intelligent.

Maybe they could just change their destination. I doubt they planned far enough ahead to make any reservations.

My GPS is a road atlas, I have quite the collection, need to update a couple of the more used ones soon.
